Our Ecommerce Project Manager has a weird link to shark attacks, dreams of dressing up as a giant shoe and has gone from attending special measures classes at school to doing a spot of in-house modelling. We caught up with 25-year-old Luke Goodman to chat about dinner parties, bad habits and favourite footwear.
What did you study at University?
Politics, however three years of it was enough. Shoes are less complicated – please don’t talk to me about Brexit!
How did you get this job?
I applied online.
Did you always want to pursue a career in this field?
Sort of. I wanted to work within an industry which attracts interesting people so that’s why I chose Fashion over Politics, however it didn’t quite work out…
What does a typical day involve?
Other than drinking a minimum of about five cups of tea? My work can be very varied; my day is very dependent on what project I’m working on at the time. For instance, yesterday I was working on our new German website but today I’m helping to digitise the warehouse.
What’s your favourite part about the job?
I get to work to my own timelines and schedules.
What’s the biggest challenge your job role presents you with?
I often have to learn whole processes quite quickly.
How do you come up with new ideas and concepts?
I often think of quite ‘outside the box’ ideas for marketing however they normally say no 🙁 If I had my way we would have launched ‘Twinder’ (originating from our company name Twinmar) this year and there would definitely be some giant shoe costumes lying around.
What’s your favourite footwear?
Classic Reebok Workouts.
Describe your style in three words…
Plain is best.
Where is your OOTD (outfit of the day) from?
Don’t be silly.
What’s an interesting or quirky fact about you?
I used to be in special measures classes at school, but my mum just said I was a late bloomer – look at me now! Also, a man in Cornwall called Luke Goodman got attacked by a shark and a man in Australia called Luke Goodman got eaten by a shark. I’m basically destined to fight a shark.
Who/what inspires you?
People who are themselves and don’t take things too seriously.
What’s your favourite piece of advice/quote?
*Disclaimer – unfortunately we had to remove Luke’s answer as it was quite simply too obscene to include*
If you could have a dinner party with three people, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Notorious B.I.G, Alex Ferguson and my mum. I’d just like to see what they would talk about and which one my mum preferred – a gangster rapper or an angry Scottish man.
What’s your worst habit?
I talk too much and occasionally say things or get involved in things when I shouldn’t.
