Behind the SOLE: Personal Assistant to the CEO

henry5     xmasfinal

Our Personal Assistant to the CEO loves spending time with her new puppy, would love to meet J.K Rowling and dreams of a shopping trip to New York. We caught up with 21-year-old Rebecca Hall to chat about her love for animals, how she unwinds after a stressful day and all things Christmas.

What did you study at University?

English Language and Communication at The University of Hertfordshire.

How did you get this job?

I found the job online and thought it suited me well. I applied and was invited for an interview which I thought went well. I was invited back for a second interview but didn’t hear back for a couple of weeks so assumed I didn’t get it. I then got a call one Friday afternoon offering me the job. It was also my University Graduation Ball that evening so I had two reasons to celebrate!

Did you always want to pursue a career in this field?

I was never too sure what I wanted to do. I wanted to go to university and English was a subject that I always enjoyed at school, so I studied for three years and found this job straight after.

What does a typical day involve?

No two days are the same. There’s always a lot to do and I have to always be really organised and keep on top of everything that’s going on.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

The job is very varied which I really like. Also, being surrounded by loads of great shoes is definitely a big bonus!

What’s the biggest challenge your job role presents you with?

Managing my time; there is always lots to be done and I’m often working on several tasks at once so I’m constantly writing myself notes and lists to ensure I don’t forget anything. It’s also pretty difficult to go to work in the morning and leave my puppy Henry as I could happily spend all day with him – he’s only four months old!

Where is your OOTD (outfit of the day) from?

Christmas Jumper – H&M
Jeans – Topshop

What’s an interesting or quirky fact about you?

I’m a vegetarian – I had no turkey or pigs in blankets on Christmas day!

What’s your favourite way to relax after a stressful day?

I love going home to see Henry. He always runs to the door when he sees me coming in and welcomes me home, he’s always so happy to see me.

Who/what inspires you?

My mum and dad; they’ve always worked so hard to support myself and my sisters.

What’s your favourite thing to do over the festive break?

I love spending time with my family over Christmas. This year was mine and my boyfriend’s first Christmas with Henry which we were really excited about. Watching Christmas films, listening to Christmas songs and drinking mulled wine are all good ways to enjoy the festive period!

If money was no object, what would be your dream Christmas present?

A shopping trip to New York, a holiday somewhere nice and warm, a new car… The list could go on and on!

What’s your favourite piece of advice/quote?

Not sure if this counts as a quote but it’s something I always say:

“It is what it is”

I say it all the time because you can’t change what’s happened so I just think that you have to get on with it and make the best of whatever has happened. We often say this after Henry has had an accident in the house or has chewed up one of our belongings!

If you could invite three people to a dinner party, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

The Queen because I’ve always wanted to meet her (or any member of the Royal Family), J.K Rowling because I’m a massive fan and would love to discuss all things Harry Potter and Noel Fitzpatrick (The Supervet) so we could talk about dogs and I could introduce him to Henry.

Fancy getting festive with Ted Baker?

While Christmas has dreamy connotations of sinking into your sofa, nursing a food baby and drinking a little too much mulled wine for three days straight, it also has a striking connection with festive fashion – particularly metallics. A trend that doesn’t seem to want to budge, its statement yet sophisticated finish allows for a seriously strong style game. Ted Baker has released two exclusive metallic styles specifically for Christmas this year, honing in on the hype surrounding the metallic trend and most importantly, taking it to new heights.

Ted Baker is one of the fastest-growing leading lifestyle brands in the UK and everything produced under the Ted Baker name has his personality woven into its very heart. From the beginning, Ted has had a very clear and unswerving focus on quality and attention to detail, as well as a quirky sense of humour. These qualities are consistently present throughout the designs and we’re lucky enough to have EXCLUSIVE access to these beautifully crafted and exquisitely designed styles. We’ll warn you now, these will be a catch this Christmas.

The women’s Ted Baker collection is thriving and these two new additions will follow suit. While rose gold is a key colour for Ted, the sophisticated silver adds a more classic festive dimension to the collection. With detailing to die for, these trend-driven designs feature leather uppers, a suede tongue and chunky soles. The prominent metallic detailing adds a touch of elegance and class, featuring a textured lace trim, metallic eyelets, engraved plaque branding and mini bow detailing on the heel tab – a simple yet strong design we’re desperate to slip into.

With attention to detail being one of Ted’s specialities, the importance of this is reinforced by the gorgeous floral print lining, adding another dimension to both colours. The iconic floral print brings the design together and creates a striking silhouette, indicating a relentless focus on design and detail. With rose gold being the more desirable and sought-after colour this season, the silver will certainly make heads turn too. A simple style with a beautiful finish, it epitomises this season’s sports luxe trend. Fancy getting festive with Ted Baker? We do!

This dreamy duo which is EXCLUSIVE to us can of course be purchased in either rose gold or silver, and is £94.99 a pop. A Christmas treat too shiny to shy away from – don’t you think?
